ECHO LINK / EQSO INTERFACE BOARD

Echo Link and Eqso have become very popular but few people know how to build a radio linked node that other hams can enjoy.   Our board makes it easy to build your own simplex radio based link to the internet.  This allows you to walk around town talking back through your own Echo Link or Eqso system with only a handheld radio.   The board interfaces a base station radio to your computer to help put "real radio" back into the fun of Echo Link and Eqso.   Your friends will enjoy working your system too with their handhelds.

Easily build your own RF Linked Echo Link Node or Eqso Gateway using our simple computer interface between your radio and computer.  Shown below is the assembled interface board.   The connector on the left goes to the computer serial port.   The four connectors on the right go to the radio and computer.  The radio linking software is free on the internet.

Download the software from http://www.echolink.org/.   Full instructions for installing and using the software are on this site.

Eqso Software
... listen to our board working in a real radio linked system
Download the Eqso software for free from the http://www.eqso.net site and listen to the 101-English room to hear a working system built using our interface.      Make sure to download the PC software for chatting using only your computer or the RF software if you are planning to build a radio link.

Shown below is the interface plugged directly into a computer.    Two of the standard sound cables go directly to the sound blaster card and two of the other cables go to the radio's mike and earphone connections.   The exact details of your radio interfacing will depend on the radio itself.   You only need to deal with the microphone, speaker and press to talk (PTT) lines of the linking radio.
 

This system is VOX operated.
